Πνοή πρασίνου στο Γιοκάλειο Πνευματικό Κέντρο: μια ευγενική δωρεά ομορφαίνει την πόλη μας με σεβασμό στο περιβάλλον

The Society for the Protection of the Environment of South Karystia is pleased to announce the completion of the renovation of a section of the exterior of the Yokaleio Cultural Center of Karystos.

After many years during which these spaces remained empty and devoid of vegetation, the image of the historic building has changed radically. The aesthetic upgrade of the space was implemented with the approval of the Yokaleio Foundation and thanks to the initiative and kind sponsorship of our Association member James Brown, who fully undertook the cost and organization of the planting work. This is not the first time that James Brown has shown his love for the natural environment of our place.

Particular emphasis was placed on the selection of Mediterranean plant species, which are fully in harmony with the local flora and the special climatic conditions of Karystos. This choice was made with sustainability in mind, as these species have low water requirements, thus ensuring the protection of our region's water resources without sacrificing the aesthetic result.

The Giokaleio Cultural Center is a landmark for our city and its new appearance now makes it more attractive and welcoming. This move demonstrates in practice the power of private initiative and love for our place, while at the same time strengthening the effort of our Society to highlight the natural and residential environment of South Karystia.

We warmly thank our member for this valuable contribution, which is an example to follow. We call on our fellow citizens to embrace this effort and respect this new "ornament" of our city.
